Welcome to the Moreland School District!
Moreland Middle School Students Succeeding Outside of School
Two eighth grade students participated in the “Windows on Tomorrow Youth Symposium” at the 2011 Media Innovations Summit at the Santa Clara Convention Center. The students conveyed to telecom executives and representatives of the education community how youth interact with media and technology for both entertainment and education.
A student recently had her Letter to the Editor published in The New York Times. She responded to the article, “When Science Leaps from the Page,” which showcased the use of electronic books in classrooms.
An outstanding MMS student earned the High Point Award for 11-12 boys category at the Junior Olympic Swim Championship.
MMS students accepted the Bold Steps for Children Award on behalf of Project Cornerstone, a YMCA program that works with youth programs in the bay area. The program works with children and teens to promote leadership and help them feel valued and respected.

Enroll Your Student for the 2012-13 School Year
February 1 – March 30, 2012 3:00 P.M.
Open Enrollment provides Moreland residents an opportunity to request school placement for their children regardless of where they live within the District boundaries. In order for a student to be placed at a school other than their home school, parents must apply and the requested school must have sufficient space for the student in their grade level. When a school or specific grade has no available space, the school and or grade level is “closed” for Open Enrollment and only residents living within the attendance boundaries of that school are permitted to attend.
Open Enrollment for the 2012-13 school year is as follows:
- Kindergarten at Anderson, EDS and Payne have limited availability
- Second grade at Anderson and Country Lane have limited availability
- Sixth grade at EDS, as a choice program, has limited availability
- All other grades and locations do not have availability for placement through Open Enrollment
